Sowell’s point is right, I am not so sure we aren’t past the point of no return. We will not survive the debt we currently have.

We hit the point of no return before he was elected. Even back in 2008 I was mentioning that McCain might have actually wanted to lose because the party knew that whichever party was at the helm when this thing melted down it would be that party that was blamed for it.
But Obama’s utter incompetence has ensured that it will be truly spectacular when it happens. Not that spectacular amounts of blood in the street is a good thing.

No way, no how. We are like a family with a 10,000 a month income with a 9800 a month total interest payment on our debt, and our income just dropped to 6,000 a month.
And we owe the money to the mob. Ouch!
The voters just indured that a Democrat will be elected to the Senate from Arizona in the mid term election. it may be a Democrat masquerading as a Republican,a/k/a John Mc Cain or a real Democrat, but it will still be a Democrat.
The unknown factor is whether the real Democrat, if elected, will advance the obama agenda. Mc Cain’s history is evidence thatr he will. Leopards cannot change their spots.
It’s a shame the first black president had to be zero.
Unfortunately, the United States passed the point of no return sometime during the administration of FDR.
My guess is they, the Democrats, are saving the tax thing for an October ‘surprise’ and will wait until the eve of the election to stop the taxes from going up. I think by that time it will just about the only ace they will have up their sleeves! At the rate the country is going now they will be mighty desperate for something, anything, to offset the displeasure the people will be champing at the bit to express at the polls!
