Sen. Tom Coburn (R-Okla.) is pouring cold water on the idea of former House Speaker Newt Gingrich running for president.
He's the last person I'd vote for for president of the United States, Coburn said during a town hall event in Wagoner, Okla., over the weekend, as was reported by the Tulsa World.
In explaining why he wouldn't support Gingrich, Coburn specifically targeted the ex-speakers three marriages as proof that Gingrich doesn't know anything about commitment to marriage.
His life indicates he does not have a commitment to the character traits necessary to be a great president, said Coburn, who also noted that Gingrich is a super-smart man.

Sorry, thought he was already in his second term.
He is wrong on more issues that matter to us. And he ruined opportunities for the party when he had the power to do something positive. His personal life is his business but how he treated the people he supposedly loved is an ugly reflection of his true character.
I knew he'd be the last person to support Newt and it has nothing to do with his three wives and everything about how he ran the House. Yes Newt was/is a con man who treated "you conservatives" like a social disease.
For me Newt is tied for last with Myth Romney.
Cannot be true, I suspect the last person would be DumBO.
If you think that the statement I made about “you can not trust a man who cheats on his wife” as being absurd, then you think that morals have no say in how a man acts in private life and public life. They run hand in hand. If a man is immoral in his private life, he is going to be immoral in public life. So should we keep winking at the shortcomings of every man or woman that wants to run for public office? I think that is why we are in the mess we are in now.
Excellent point.
We are agreeing, good. I too, do not want a ‘poser’ Republican like Juan McCain. I misunderstood your post, sorry. Newt will not win any primaries, nor will that lame pretty boy Romney. We (Repubs) will not get fooled again.
From your mouth (keyboard) to God's ear!
Using your logic Obama and Clinton are high moralist....how’s that working out for you?
Not Clinton...Carter!
If a man is immoral in his private life, he is going to be immoral in public life. So should we keep winking at the shortcomings of every man or woman that wants to run for public office?
You evidently did not read my reply thoroughly. Besides that Clinton had cheated on his wife, maybe you forgot. I also believe that Obama has also done the same. The MSM protects him.
