Ken Mehlman, George W. Bush's 2004 election campaign manager and a former Republican Party Chairman, has just revealed he is gay, according to Newsweek and a variety of other media outlets. His disclosure has angered some gay and lesbian same-sex marriage activists, upset by his tacit support and silence during the "values" political drive of 2004, when Republican strategists like Karl Rove pushed same-sex marriage bans across 13 states that year, as USA Today reported. Others are hailing his recent self-outing as being potentially helpful to the efforts to end Proposition 8 and the court case being driven, in part, by conservative former Solicitor General Ted Olson.
Same-sex marriage and homosexuality are concepts that have seen a major sea change in acceptance over the past five years, as a recent CNN poll showed (seen on the New York Times). OH NO.
A “former campaign advisor” .... and a republican no less....is....gasp... gay.
This is hugh and series.
s.a.r.c.
This guy is going to get his mileage out of it,
Remember, for each and every homosexual his primary focus of his every waking moment is his nether region ~ and he will do anything, lower himself to any depth, manipulate the world if necessary to achieve his personal satori in real time!
“angered some gay and lesbian same-sex marriage activists, upset by his tacit support and silence during the “values” political drive of 2004”
Who cares? And where does it say if you’re gay you don’t have a right to your own political views? I get so tired of these leftist stereotypes that demand political conformity based on sex, race or sexual orientation. The left doesn’t believe in the right of political association and need to be called on it every time they open their mouths.
See the link in post 6. It IS “hugh and series”. No wonder the Republicans came unglued when he was head of the party. What better way to destroy than from within? Like Obama.
Controversy is male? Who knew that fact?
