Hell, when we first got there we were told that never, ever offer a Turk anything with your right hand - it was considered an insult....so what does that tell you....LOL
That’s funny. In India, it’s the opposite. The left hand is considered the unclean one due to ‘bathroom duty’ (although this summer when we visited various places around India we found majority of western toilets instead of the kind like in the previous picture). The right hand is the only one used when eating with your fingers/hand (can’t even use left to break up bread or meat or whatever because it is unclean, even if it is washed)—I remember years ago my husband ‘training’ me on how to tear chappatis (tortilla like Indian bread) with only my right hand, then picking up the entree (curried whatever) with the small piece of chappati—he didn’t want me to embarrass myself when eating with Indian family members!
