California Republican candidate Carly Fiorina is headed for Israel in a move she hopes will give her an edge over incumbent Democratic and Jewish Senator Barbara Boxer. Both candidates bill themselves as "pro-Israel."
Sen. Boxer previously has been supported by pro-Israel groups, but Jewish voters growing dislike of U.S. President Barack Obama may taint her record.
Fiorina, a former chief executive officer of Hewlett Packard, already has scored points on the issues of the Ground Zero mosque and the building freeze against new Jewish home construction in Judea and Samaria. She has come out against building the planned multi-story mosque near the site where Al-Qaeda suicide terrorists destroyed the Twin Towers on 9/11. "Now would be a time for the proponents of that mosque to withdraw and say they will find someplace else, where their objectives can be met, instead of continuing to inflame the passions of the people who lost and suffered so much," Fiorina has said.
Sen. Boxer (pictured) declined to get involved, saying, "That is a zoning decision, and that decision has to be made by the city of New York."

Hopefully, Boxer’s fervent support for Obama will backfire on her with Jewish voters, too.
Boxer is a Kapo and should be exposed as such.
Boxer a strong supporter of ISRAEL????? Who is she trying to kid?
You know politicians these days ... saying whatever they have to say to get elected.
Well, I am voting for Carly but only because I hate Boxer so much, and I have few words of advice for Carly: Israelis can’t vote in CA.
Could be a decisive plus for Fiorina in a very tight race. There are enough Jewish and other pro-Israel voters in CA for this to be important.
Not quite. Californians living in Israel can vote by absentee ballot. (BTW, if 2008 is any indication, the large majority of Americans living in Israel will vote Republican.)
Although Carly Fiorina is far from perfect, I really hope she wins this. Barbara Boxer is one of the worst.
And a LOT of family and friends in Israel.
If they are Californians then they aren't Israelis are they? So my comment still stands and your reply isn't relevant.
There is also a lot of $$$ at stake in CA that could help Conservative candidates supporting Israel.
If I lived in CA, my vote for Carly is really a vote against Senator Ma’am. I would hold my nose while casting the vote against Ma’am.

Even though many don't approve of the concept, there are some American citizens who hold dual citizenship with other nations. So yes, there are Californians who could be Israelis as well in that sense.
Good point, though Fiorina could hardly be considered a "conservative" generally speaking.
Thanks justiceseeker93.
