Not bad tactics on the part of the defender. Examples like this make a hash of the anti-gun argument that "you have no chance of defense because the robber already has the drop on you" that I have heard or read numerous times.

Wal-mart will ban Joshua from their store.
Joshua will be alive, and free to shop elsewhere.
Jacques will get to be someones bitch.

I used to shop at that Super Walmart before they built one closer to me. The Stroudsburg area used to be nice, now it’s just chock full of NYC transplants bringing their big mouths and bad habits with them.
I always said to my husband when looking for a place to retire, we will check out the local Walmart to see the typical cross section of the population before we buy.

“Police say Joshua Eastman, 28, of East Stroudsburg was unloading groceries at his car shortly before 12:45 a.m. today when Reneau Jean Jacques, 17, of 77 Symphony Circle, East Stroudsburg, pointed a handgun at him and demanded that he hand over his money. “
“Jacques fled into a landscaped island of bushes and trees in the parking lot.”
Another French surrender monkey not on the loose!

This incident occurred 28 August, 2008. It is over two years old. I misread the date. Old news.

Should have been carrying a .357 or larger so he could have shot thru the door and killed the perp. Good riddance to worthless trash.

...found him hiding and trying to bury a handgun in the mulch. He originally claimed to be a victim before police determined he was likely the one who started the trouble. This scumbag tried to pin the shooting on the victim....another reason to keep shooting until the threat is permanently stopped.

The incredible thing here is that the robber actually tried to kill the dude by firing his weapon.

Great outcome. The victim was not shot or injured. No innocent bystanders were shot or injured. The perp was caught. I'll take that any day.

Just, “wow.” I shoot lefthanded and carry my CCW on my left side. If someone had made it that far (to my vehicle door w/me indside) it would have been difficult for me to pull my weapon. Two words: situational awareness.

Obeyme’s next legislature will be full a disclosure law. All law abiding citizens will be required to disclose to all criminals if they are carrying. It is just not fair that a criminal not know if his victim is capable of defending himself.

What did he shoot the perp with, a BB gun? After getting shot in the leg, the creep ran away!
This is why warning shots (in the form of a double tap to the head) are recommended.
