VINEYARD HAVEN, Mass. President Barack Obama is aiming to underscore his commitment to a region weary of calamity as he travels to New Orleans on the fifth anniversary of Hurricane Katrina.
Obama ends his Martha's Vineyard vacation Sunday and heads to the Gulf, five years to the day from when Katrina roared ashore in Louisiana. Eighty percent of New Orleans was flooded when the storm tore through protective levees.

Ha!!
You’ll see him in Pakistan first.
Ok, I am an expatriate of New Orleans after Katrina. I had just retired from teh USAF there when Katrina suggested I make other plans!
It pisses me off that all they ever show on teh TV is the entitlement whores. St Bernard Parish and Metairie were hit just as hard as the 9th Ward. Now my 130+ year old high school was lost there, Holy Cross High School, which has now relocated. Trust me when I say there are plenty of people there like those on the Gulf Coast who “rolled up their sleeves” including me and my family.
Unfortunately all teh news shows is the ex-residents of the Housing projects which were not rebuilt. They were nothing but crime infested shitholes. Please remember its only TV and not the whole story.
How many Democrat Politicians running for office this year will be with POTUS (Radioactive) Obama this afternoon in New Orleans?
***Ever wonder whatever happened to the gazillions of dollars in private donations given freely by the American people? Where did it go?***
Probably more boat harbors for the wealthy.
Everytime I see that picture I think he’s just been punk’d to get on that bike.
Hey, those are always the green pastures of Marxists and most willing to riot and murder.
Access by the public will be limited.
My community is already organized, go home Barack.
Has it been reported which church he attended today?
Thanks, that’s it! Really excellent....... I was quite disturbed because all the reviews said that it was not fictional at all.
He going there for the photo op and once he leaves New Orleans will never see or hear from him again. He’s had 2 years to go there and hasn’t lifted a finger. One trip to show his ugly mug will not change a thing.
I wonder if Barry will be cracking any more jokes this time around.
He will be met with a rather lukewarm welcome which will turn warm when he mentions a large dollar amount committed to “help”.
It is true.
New Orleans is no longer the ‘chocolate’ city Ray Nagin
assured everyone it would remain/
It’s the low-income Black renters that fled 5 years ago
and haven’t returned in great numbers (can you blame them?)
And it’s the homeowners of whatever color who HAVE returned.
Just one of the many unintended conseqences you can ‘thank’
an entrenched let the good times roll corrupt Dem Party bureaucracy for/ I spent two weeks there 7 months after Katrina hit, and the city was only about 30% repopulated, with my nephew, a musician who set off on his tour bus literally two days before Katrina hit, being one of the FIRST people allowed back in the city when they rolled in at the end of a four month tour. When he got in, (with a very good explanation) the city was literally about 5% populated. He’s got great camcorder footage of what the city looked like then.
Dopey Useful Idiots applaud Dear Leader.. As if he’s done anything for anyone.
He just said that due to popular demand, he brought the first lady. I changed to the food channel. I can’t stand to listen to him. The people of the Gulf Coast deserve better.
FUBO
yap yap ..All Bush’s fault!
“Five years and still unrepaired. Not even partially”
They were never repaired when people actually lived in them if the government didn’t do it! What do you expect from people who have never taken care of themselves!
Did he really say he was the symbol of hope? I just can’t watch.
