My father - God Rest His Soul - drove F4s with VMFA 314.

The only time I ever saw him cry was when he pointed out, to me, his GIBs name at the Memorial Wall.

He said, "He was a terrific guy", and just broke down.

It still makes me sad to think about.

There is a great book by Leo Thorsness who was a Medal of Honor winner and a POW for six years. When he got back he ran for US senate and was defeated by McGovern in South Dakota.
