Will this cure the need for reading glasses due to the natural stiffening of the cornea due to aging?
It's a stiffening of the lens due to aging from what I have read. It's called presbyopia.
Correct me if I'm wrong. I wouldn't try this unless a cornea left me de facto blind, i.e. light perception, but that's about it. You can't even count fingers in front of your face. Other than that, I don't have a problem with corrective lenses.
