No actually it's not a lie. The controlling sect of the GOP has been trying to bring gays into the GOP Big Tent for several election cycles now. Remember the Bush Snub of James Dobson for Log Cabin Republicans in 2000? You know when Barney Frank got a significant number of GOP Congressman to go along with his votes on bailouts I wondered why he had so much power over them.
We need to kick Repub elitists to the curb. There are WAY more of us than them.
OK I'm game. Here's how it must be done though. Stop voting for Republicans only for party unity sake when Conservatives loose primaries and start voting for worthy Independent Conservatives instead. Look around on this board and see how many are willing to do this. Most won't do it and that's the problem. They are enablers to this agenda in every sense of the word. They value a political win at any cost over moral principles.
My last Republican Elitist's vote went to Bob Dole and no I did not vote for Junior Bush either time and the reasons stated above was at the top of the list as to why. Your religious and moral principles either stand for something or they are cheap and for sale for political gain and of little value in this world or the next. When people learn and understand you can not separate you political values from your moral ones and vote accordingly this nation might turn around again.
The last moral change or awakening as a nation back toward GOD as a nation came in 1980. Because of it were blessed with the best president since the Civil War as great prosperity before the world. Quickly as a nation we fell away from that because the same was abandoned for short term political gains. Since that time we have been cursed with some of the worst presidents in our nations history both Dem and GOP to ever sit in the office of President of the United States. IT'S THE NATIONAL MORALITY that's the problem. It's not a party problem because like it or not in deeds the two political parties in power today share most of the same political and moral values.
I’ll add this. I don’t like the Washington Post. But people need to stop blaming the WP for the ills of the GOP as if they don’t exist and clean house instead.
Some in the Repub part are as you say - social liberals. But IMO the grassroots Repubs are not, they are conservative. And if more conservatives run for office as “R’s”, this will bring more conservative voters still.
The RINOs need to be kicked to the curb.
At present, third party votes will ensure more of 0thugga’s helpers to win.
