Magellan Strategies’ new poll in Colorado’s 7th Congressional District shows Republican candidate Ryan Frazier with a narrow 1 point lead, 40-39, over Rep. Ed Perlmutter.

Jim Geraghty at the Campaign Spot sees the Frazier/Perlmutter battle as a potential election night surprise.

This is a big deal. Perlmutter won this (my) district 63-37 in 2008 (although the republican candidate's slogan was actually "John Who?" - kind of summed up the run). Frazier has a great chance to win this race. I would love to see my smarmy congressman sent home.

Here's a good analysis of the poll:

I worked the phone banks for the republican who initially lost to Perlmutter. It was held by a republican before that. I could tell two weeks out we were going to get hammered by how rude folks were. I do believe the tide is turning here!

Perlmutter is a disgusting rat with even more far left ideas than our dear leader. He is a Pelosi lapdog. Go Frazier!

If any incumbent is at or anywhere near 39% at this point they are toast - provided, of course, that the challenger does not blow bubbles with their drool.

You know, I think BO has harmed this country so badly that your guy probably could blow bubbles with his drool and still win. Good Luck.

Perlmutter is the worst. He has been sending out glossy multi-page flyers discussing “constituent concerns” like how to fight your credit card company, and how he as your congressman can help. Big old campaign ad, really - paid for by tax dollars. I’ve been on a crusade against this since he started it, to no avail. Would love to see this crook on unemployment.

How sweet it would be to see Perlmutter go down.

Hey, we’re in the same district. I voted for Frazier in the primary.
