Maybe NASA can use their budget to find a Victory Mosque there.

not unless we build a wormhole
No need. There is one end (horizon?) in our dryer.

And it is only one and a half lifetimes away traveling at the speed of light the whole time....Not for the actual travellers...

Don't worry...
All we need to do is hire James Cameron and he'll figure out a way to get us there in less than a lifetime, and perhaps within a few months or a few years. He did figure out how to "plug the hole", didn't he?

No need. There is one end (horizon?) in our dryer. I see you must have purchased a Maytag "Event Horizon" dryer. Ten pairs of socks go i;. 9.5 pairs return.

Really? I never considered that when it came to light speed travel. I guess it all goes to the relativity theory...Why wouldn’t travelers get younger traveling that fast? Or would they? Just curious...
To: BreezyDog
Perceived time slows down more and more the closer and closer you get to the speed of light. If you could go at C time would stop for you (making it impossible for you to hit the brake peddle!)
As far as I know there is no reverse.
But if there were, it would be way kewl!

That's just seriously awesome. The techniques being used to detect these planetary systems are truly incredible...As the technology advances, tens of thousands of new planets will be discovered....Just in our neighborhood!

Actually, according to the Time Dilation theory (T=t/√(1-v^2/c^2)), the travelers would get their in around 127+ years if they approached 99.9% of light speed. While the travelers observe 127 years pass, those who stayed behind would observe around 2800 years pass.

So...if you travel faster than C but not faster than C squared you will get younger without turning into pure energy?
Something has figured it out judging by all of damn UFO's we have traversing our atmosphere:-)
To: null and void
I think I calculated that wrong. Around 850 years would pass for those who stayed behind.

Yawn. Until we have perfected wormholes or hyperdrives those planets may as well not exist.

I think we left them at the last wormhole we built.
To: The Magical Mischief Tour
Well... let’s get over there and find out if there’s a good planet there we might use. We might need another one. No sense keeping all our eggs in one basket.
