If these enviros ever come close to getting something
like this, we need to make them include wheel weighs
too. Try and drive now greenies, yep you’ll like
having to stay under 30 mph.

Re wheel weights; I used to filch them off of a local garage - they melt down and cast up into pretty decent pistol bullets... or at least they used to.

A guy at a tire place told me that the EPA got after them because the weights thrown off of wheels alongside roads were poisoning wildlife, so now they have to make them out of something else.

Some residual lead from shooting is a problem with birds, according to a Biologist i know - they ‘crop’ some lead flakes off of ranges along with the gravel they need to digest things, and it can kill them or make their eggs not work. Bullets shot into game are often left in gut piles where scavengers eat em and it can mess them up too.

So yes; there IS an environmental issue with lead introduced into the environment by bullets, but I don’t think it’s the end of the world and banning ALL lead ammo is NOT the answer by any means!

Regular lead abatement and recycling at ranges would be a good start, IMHO. Perhaps the EPA would like to give us some grant money to facilitate more of that? (Dream on, eh?)

The government has already started with wheel weights. Government VMF’s are now using wheel weights made out of zinc.
