Two cars exploded early Friday in a northern state where officials are investigating the killing of 72 Central and South American migrants, and a prosecutor investigating the massacre has disappeared.

The prosecutor, Roberto Jaime Suarez, vanished Wednesday in the town of San Fernando, where the bodies of the migrants were found, the Tamaulipas state attorney general's office said in a statement. A transit police officer in the town was also missing.

President Felipe Calderon, speaking during a forum on security, said Suarez, a Tamaulipas state prosecutor, was involved in the initial investigation into the massacre, which authorities have blamed on the Zetas drug gang. The federal attorney general's office has since taken the lead in the case.

The two car explosions occurred less than 45 minutes apart in Ciudad Victoria, the Tamaulipas state capital, the attorney general's office said. The first exploded in front of the offices of the Televisa network and the second in front of transit police offices.

There were no injuries, though both blasts caused some damage to buildings and knocked out the signal of the Televisa network for several hours. The explosion outside Televisa was felt for several blocks.

Still not as bad as asking for an ID in AZ.

*Still not as bad as asking for an ID in AZ.*

It's horrifying that you would speak of subjecting innocent foreign invaders to the unspeakable violation of *gasp* human rights by asking for someone’s ID!!!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

It's too horrible! The wounds and scars that all of of carry for our entire lives from when someone at the grocery store asks for an ID when we cash a check has cause countless millions to have to go into therapy.
It's much to ghastly a subject to put on FR.

Where is Amnesty International??!

*Charlton Heston goes down on one knee in agony over the terror that some human being was asked for an ID*

Things are so much better with the Zetas running around.
At least they never asked anyone for an ID.

Think of the children!

¡POBRECITOS NINOS!

If there were a fence tall enough installed at the border, they wouldnt have attempted the trip and been spared.

You forgot the far worse traumas of traffic stops and airline boarding.

The deaths of these poor migrants all lie in the hands of Obama. His lawsuit against Arizona is what gave these migrants hope that they could illegally build a better life for themselves in America.

It sounds to me like Mexico has ceased to exist as a coherent “nation” (if it ever did). Law and order has ceased. It has devolved into a completely feudalistic society.
