But they DID endorse him, right?
So are they now WITHDRAWING their endorsement?
(Or were they only THINKING of endorsing him?)

I think they were considering. Outrage of membership got to them.

After careful consideration, the NRA-PVF announced today that it will not be endorsing Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid for re-election in the 2010 U.S. Senate race in Nevada.

I guess my angry call (and the 1000s of others they recieved) worked.

None of the above. The head of the NRA said some nice things about Reid and of course, blogs went crazy and the GOA ran with it and started putting together a lot of puzzle pieces to make it appear it was going to happen.
Now, the NRA is endorsing Chet Edwards, something I can't stomach. If it weren't for the fact the only shooting range in town is a NRA member only range, I am tempted to let membership lapse for that one.

My thinking is that the NRA, in an effort to “play along, to get along”, was thinking about endorsing Reid.
I do believe that they had a reality check in the number of members that promised to quit and the drop of renewals in membership might have influenced their thinking.
Speaking for only myself, I did call and express my disappointment with the possible endorsement of Reid and followed that with a cancellation of my membership.
We shall see what happens next.

If they had any guts they would announce that they are endorsing the wholesale elimination of the democratic party from American politics with the hope of doing it in such a timely fashion that the National Socialist EPA won’t have time to ban lead bullets.

NRA finally comes to its senses. Pork for the NRA in Nevada is not a good reason to send this POS back to DC.

Good, I see my nasty letter worked.
