Prosecutor in Mexico Massacre Feared Dead
Wall Street Journal ^ | 8/27/10 | DAVID LUHNOW

The prosecutor leading the investigation into this week's massacre of 72 South and Central American migrants in Mexico has gone missing and is feared dead, officials said Friday.

Mexico's two main newspapers, Reforma and El Universal, said Mexican marines found the body of Roberto Suarez, an agent from the state attorney general's office in northern Tamaulipas state, dumped alongside a highway.

The reports said the body, which bore signs of an execution, was found not far from the ranch where 58 men and 14 women—migrants from Honduras, El Salvador, Ecuador, and Brazil—were gunned down by a drug gang called the Zetas in the single biggest killing related to Mexico's rising drug-related violence.

Mexico appears to be a lost cause. Will the people there ever rise up and fight against this stuff?

We should have annexed the Mexican states 160 years ago. It’s time to treat all these issues as a war and exercise our imperialistic muscles. We already spend billions on “Mexican” problems, why not americanize the country and provide some structure.

You REALLY want that mess down there? If you're not satisfied with the growing unrest in this country, watch and wait, because it's only going to grow.

If the Mexicans were muslims, Imam Obama and his cultists in the liberal media would be outraged and marching in the streets.

Mexico needs to adopt the Colombian policy that was used against Pablo Escobar.

A combination of judicial and extrajudicial, along with the creation of a specific unit of incorruptibles in cells.

Mexico...you will rarely find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. We must be cautious.

Not as long as they can stream over the border into the U.S. illegally. It's easier to run than to actually stand and fight.

Sometimes I think we conservatives are so focused on the threat of militant Islam (which is paramount, I know) that we forget we have murderous death cults basically in charge in Mexico.

I suppose that is the basis for all the anti-illegal immigration focus, but, just imagine if Al Qaeda had just killed 72 people in a mass bombing and then the chief prosecutor went missing.

Both threats are very dire to the health and well being of Americans, it seems to me.

The UN apparently just sets up gang rape stations. I am glad they are not around.

If we had done it 160 years ago maybe, but I’m not interested in making it a state now.

Is the government interested in doing anything about it?

I think that’s key. If there were no safety valve (the US) they would find a way to fight it.

Why bother, when they can just go north instead? Besides, Obama would probably just side with the powers that be and refuse to help the insurgents. We saw that in his response to the Iranian uprising--or rather his lack of response. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised to see him side with the corrupt government instead of the people. He has a vested interest in using Mexico's problems to create useful crises in the US.
