If she is like every other upper middle class woman in Venezuela, her family long ago established a beach head in Miami and they all have some kind of visa that allows them to remain in the US indefinitely.
A few years ago I was working on a project for a refinery in Venezuela. Some of the engineers and maintenance technicians were here stateside for the factory acceptance test of the process control system. Most did not like Chavez, and this was before his major power grabs. Some of the techs already had property in the States, others were looking for refinery tech jobs in the local area.
One tech had on his laptop wallpaper a picture calling Chavez “La Constitucional Menaza”.
I am being vague on when and where this was so to avoid these people being recognized by Venezuelan “enforcement”.
