This is bizarre. I’m starting to wonder whether Obama isn’t a Top Secret Karl Rove plant, put in place to win the 2008 election and then to so thoroughly botch the job of POTUS that Americans would flock back to the Republican Party for generations to come. It seems like every day they are making a bonehead move that simply adds fuel to the fire of an already outraged public.

Some have speculated Obama wants a Republican Congress elected in 2010 so he has something to run against in 2012. If that truly is his strategy, he and his advisors are even more delusional and idiotic than I suspected.

I don’t think there is any conspiracy - he’s a hard-left liberal and he’s doing what liberals do.

I am sure he wants the house to go to the GOP. He will then position himself as hamstrung by the house.

I don't think even Karl Rove is bastard of that magnificence.

Actually, that might give him the best of all possible worlds. Would Clinton have been reelected if the economy hadn't gotten so much better -- because of the Republican Congress from 1994? With a Republican Congress, Obama could count on at least stopping the downslide in the economy, and he'd still have the Republicans to blame. Who now remembers (outside of FR) that Clinton's economy was in the doldrums until the Republican takeover? Who noticed at the time? Not the MSM, for sure!

Let's hope if the Republicans regain control of Congress this year, they don't squander it like they've done in the past. If they don't hold a Conservative line, and hold firm against Obama and his minions, they will be gone. Based on their past performances when they've been in power, I'm a bit skeptical. I'm hopeful they will do the right thing, but still wary that they won't turn into weak-kneed wusses.

Wouldn’t a Republican Congress impeach Obama?

(Of course, that is also what happened with Clinton, but it didn’t seem to make any difference.)
