California insurance regulators cleared the way Wednesday for Anthem Blue Cross to implement scaled-back rate hikes after a previous increase was canceled amid an uproar over its size.
Anthem said it intends to put the new rates averaging 14% and as high as 20% into effect Oct. 1 for nearly 800,000 individual California policyholders.

Of course it will be. It won't be subsidized by our tax dollars. That is why the private market will be destroyed. The average person will take a policy with subsidized benefits anytime.
Especially as they can NOT buy coverage at all for a lower tax penalty and only buy coverage when they get sick.
ObamaCare will be “cheaper” the same way socialized countries’ healthcare is “free”.
The entire point of this bill was to drive private insurers out of business, as a means of instituting socialized medicine. Think the economy is bad now? Wait until hospitals, insurance companies, and the like begin laying off workers due to the exploding costs related to “heathcare reform”.
Our Blue Cross health insurance is up 20+ % this year. About double the average increase since we got it five years ago.
It’s a high deductible policy. In the entire time we (Mrs. Tick and myself) have had the policy, we have NEVER drawn one penny in benefits. Just paid in, that’s all.
Anyone who pays for their own health insurance and thought that it would decrease in cost due to the Obamination of Obamacare was seriously delusional.
Socialized medicine sucks.
You can’t take the lifetime cap off of benefits, allow those with pre-existing conditions to buy insurance, and have “children” under the age of 26 to be included on their parents’ insurance and not expect premiums to rise. And we are adding 16 million more to the Medicaid rolls. Obama has said that we will get to the single payer system by destroying private insurers. He is in the process of doing just that.
>> You cant take the lifetime cap off of benefits &etc
But but but I thought health care was not a “marketplace good”, but a UNIVERSAL NATURAL HUMAN RIGHT!
Therefore, the Lord will rain health care down from above, like manna. Right?
(Or for you secular liberals out there: the Unicorn will crap a Health Care Skittle into the palm of your outstretched hand. Right?)
