I am not convinced China is going to go for a reunification. Reunifying East and West Germany will look like child’s play in comparison to putting the Koreas back together.
But I still think China looks at the powerful economy of South Korea and wants to bring them into the fold. Had it not been for Kim and Company, I think China and South Korea would have been very close years ago. North Korea was more of a nuisance for China in that regard.
