Sounds like a Corona drinker to me
How about Americans boycott Mexican owned restaurants?
Boycotts are stupid for the most part.
excellent!
This group does not represent all Mexican Americans. The only people it represents are illegals. Mexican Americans and Mexicans who are here legally have nothing to worry about and no problems with law enforcement. Somos America is led by a failed former state legislator and has numerous contacts with the Workers of the World and Atzlan groups.
“The only people it represents are illegals. Mexican Americans and Mexicans who are here legally have nothing to worry about and no problems with law enforcement.”
How about this group stand up to the the invaders and tell them “You do not speak for me!”
Are they like the quiet Muslims after 9/11 who were afraid of offending the murderous wing of their religion so they said nothing?
I don’t buy any Mexican food since the fool “Latinos” marched in the streets of Los Angeles, shutting everything down for hours.
They have no “rights’ IMO, & I can withhold what little I spend on eting out from tacos prepared by people who refuse to speak English.
Actually, Dos Equis is a fine beer.
Sounds like another one of those Hispano Racist groups.
Most Arizonans support SB 1070...so the boycott would be pretty much ineffective. Those who support SB 1070 will end up drinking more Budweiser/Anheiser Busch.
Except for the fact that, being Cuban born, I happen to represent that remark.
So, by falling for the bait, you have called for a boycott against me.
It is equivalent to the old Clinton era, "It's all about sex" trick. No, it was not "about sex" at all. It was about ILLEGAL perjury.
By turning it into a "FrankR's ethnic group against Polybius' ethnic group" issue, you have been baited into engaging in friendly fire while they laugh and munch their popcorn.
They have thus successfully deflected the issue from ILLEGAL to legal Americans turning against legal Americans along ethnic lines.
If some Femi-Nazi that wants to undermine the traditional family said that all men were the lowest form of life on the planet, would you then respond by anti-female rant?
Your mother, your sister and your wife might not take that too well and, guess what? The Femi-Nazi succeeded in undermining the traditional family.
So, the Budweiser Company, founded by German-born Adolphus Busch and named after the town of Böhmisch Budweis in today's Czech Republic, is "American" ..... As opposed to, say, this guy who, although born in the USA is not a "real American" in your book because he is Latino?
There is no other way to say this. You are an idiot.
So you, Albert Einstein, believe that anybody that is not from your own particular ethnic group is not as much of an "American" as you are?
I hate to break the news to you but America became majority "ethnic" (not British) over 100 years ago.
Are you stupid enough to believe that there are no "Americans" of Latino or German or Polish or Norwegian or Italian or Greek or Chinese origin?
What ethnic group are you from? Do you claim to be of 100% Mayflower origin? What ethnic group claims the exalted status of being the only "Americans" that qualify as being the only true "Americans".
Oh, I know, you must be an Apache or a Navaho.
Is Joe DiMaggio not "American" enough for you.
Are the Purple Hearts in my family not "American" enough for you?
Is my rank of Commander in the United States Navy not "American" enough for you?
You automatically lunged at the agitprop dog biscuit those foreigners threw at you. You do not have the brains to qualify as well-trained dog.
I told you that their comments were meant to incite Americans against Americans along ethnic lines, didn't I?
Were you too stupid to understand that?
I guess you were.
"Race"?????
Ummm.... FrankR, did your English teacher ever sit down and explain to you the difference between the English words "race" ,"ethnicity" and "nationality"?
If given the name "Joe DiMaggio", are you actually incapable of stating his "race", his "ethnicity" and his "nationality"?
Let's have a little English lesson.
Did I ever mention the word "race"? Go back and read my posts, word for word. Is the word "race" in there? Anywhere?
No. It is not.
Is the word "ethnic" and "ethnicity" in my post?
Yes, multiple times.
"Ethnicity" is not a persons "race". "Ethnicity" is not a person's "nationality".
"Race" is about DNA. You can look at a person with your own eyeballs and see "race". From 50 yards away, you can tell that Barack Obama and Tiger Woods have Black ancestors. THAT is "race". With your own eyeballs, you can look at a mestizo (mixed race of white and Indian) Mexican and tell that he has Indian ancestors, be they Aztecs or Mayans or whatever. THAT is "race".
Ethnicity is about ancestral tradition, learned behavior and customs. You can have five different second generation Americans lined up in bathing suits, right next to each other, and, until they start talking, you could not tell which one is ethnically French, which one is ethnically Polish, which one is ethnically Irish, which one is ethnically Russian and which one is ethnically Norwegian. Every single one of those men is Caucasian but every single one of those men has a different ethnicity. ALL of them are just as "American" as you are.
"Italian", when referring to the ancestral cultural background of Joe DiMaggio, is his ethnicity. "White" is his "race". "American" is his nationality.
"Latino" is an ethnicity. It means anybody whose ancestors came from a Spanish speaking country. It has nothing to do with "race". It has nothing to do with "nationality". There are 46 million American citizens who are ethnically "Latino".
John F. Kennedy was ethnically Irish, racially white and was just as "American" as you are.
Joe DiMaggio was ethnically Italian, racially white and was just as "American" as you are.
The U.S. Marine in the photo was ethnically Latino, by his looks, he is, like the majority of Mexicans, racially mestizo (mixed race of White and Indian) and was just as "American" as you are.
I am ethnically Latino, racially white (every single branch in the family tree goes back to Spain) and just as "American" as you are.
Now that we had our English lesson, let's go on with your point:
It didn't start out to be about you, or race, or Cuba or anything but my rebuttal to a group planning to boycott an AMERICAN company (I don't care who founded it, it's an American company now).
"American" is a "nationality.
Nationality refers to your citizenship.
An "American" can be of any "race" and an "American" can be of any "ethnicity". ...... including "Latino".
By calling for a boycott of "all Latinos", you called for the boycott of 46 million of your fellow American citizens. ...... including me and my entire family.
Do you get that now?
Has it sunk in yet?
If, after these English lessons, you still don't understand the difference between "race", "ethnicity" and "American", you are beyond hope.
