Scott Tiptons campaign released a commissioned poll that puts the Western Slope Republican ahead of Democratic Rep. John Salazar in a rematch of their 2006 battle, which Salazar won handily:
Salazar has recently been the subject of scrutiny from legislation over a proposed land deal that involves his largest donor.
Yesterday, NRO Campaign Spots Jim Geraghty listed Colorados 3rd Congressional District as a 50-50 pickup probability. The Cook Political Report lists Salazars seat as leans Democratic in a R+5 PVI district. Real Clear Politics also lists the race as leaning Democratic.

The Tipton for Congress campaign today released results of a telephone survey that demonstrates Republican businessman Scott Tipton leads Democrat Congressman John Salazar 49% to 43% in the 3rd Congressional District race.
This means he needs to campaign even more heavily ... but as a conservative. Not a repubbie.
This is kust amazing. One must remember that this is an internal poll, which makes it akin to an outlier poll, but still. It’s not what I was expecting at all.
This one I believe. Scott's a good candidate and if any year is going to see this district come back to us, this is it.
Ohmigosh, could we really be rid of BOTH Salazar brothers?!! Wow, obimbo really did bring change to Colorado.
