You don’t send 2 combat divisions to the capital for a military parade. They are there to keep the order. It seems ole Kimmy is losing his grasp on life and power and no one seems to believe his 20 something year old son can cut the mustard.

Korea: This Is Going To Hurt
August 24, 2010: Since June, at least two additional combat divisions have been camped outside the North Korean capital. No official explanation was given for this troop movement (which required using a lot of scarce fuel.) All is speculation in the north, because intel agencies in South Korea, the United States and China are reluctant to release any solid information, lest they risk exposing the few good sources they have up there. But the current rumors indicate that most of what’s going on up north these days is driven by efforts to keep the government going. This is difficult, because supreme leader Kim Jong Il is apparently dying, or at least believes he is. The big problem is that his chosen successor is his youngest son, an able enough young man in his 20s. That’s too young for a place like Korea, where people like their leaders elderly. Kim Jong Il is trying to convince his elderly associates to honor his choice of successor, and apparently not everyone is convinced.

Some insurance for “I’m so rohnree.”
People are to busy talking about the Mid-East, to realize what is happening in the Far East.
Obama on vacation there?
NK could suddenly fall apart like a rice paper house in a typhoon.
Hmmmm...
Perhaps vaguely analogous to Julius Caesar’s army camped on the far side of the Rubicon??
Is Jimmy Carter advising NK on how to attack SK?
Monty Python could have made great spoofs out of little Kim.
I mean the guns the soldiers carry are bigger than the half starved soldiers are. It’s like the killer rabbit thing, where something faily insignificant gets blown out of proportion into a “killer”.
When his troops have nothing more to eat than the soles of their shoes, he better wish he’s already dead.
Ping.
That and with our excellent trustworthy foreign policy experience in the administrative branch, I’m not a bit concerned.
we should pull out of South Korea.
They don’t like us, they don’t want us there. And our saber rattling will just embolden the North Koreans.
I’m serious. South Korea has never been that great of an ally - we should just let the hungry dogs eat them.
good, now that they are all bunched up in one spot.. it makes it a whole lot easier to take em out :)
Chia Pet maybe dying RIGHT NOW
Chia Pet maybe dying RIGHT NOW
I talked with a friend who is very up on what is happening there and he told me that what the South fears will happen now is Kim will order all the political prisoners and known dissenters killed in a mass killing spree before his son takes over.
Smooth the way by eliminating what could be a million+ mouths that need feeding and resources to guard and care for them, also dieing with the blame so his son will be clear of any later charges or crimes against humanity.
We need to go into NK and take over command of the military and use it to invade Iran. The DPRK military is such a closed society they will take orders from who ever they think is running the show.
all-hands meeting?
Honestly, who cares. I’m sick of worrying about some rock half way around the world.
North Korea is getting ready for the Jimmy Carter Rambo trip to get someone out of jail. Jimmy just don’t lust after the women in NK. Kim won’t cotton to that.
