A majority of Iraqis believe it was the wrong time for a major withdrawal of US combat troops, a poll said on Tuesday, with more than half also warning that it would have negative consequences.
When asked if it was the right time for American soldiers to leave -- the US military earlier confirmed troop numbers in Iraq had fallen under 50,000 for the first time -- 59.8 percent said no, compared to 39.5 percent who said yes.
51 percent said the withdrawal would have a negative effect, compared to 25.8 percent who said it would be positive.

You mean they want infidels on their soil?
Here’s a thought for the Iraqis, own your own damn country. Stop taking $$ from Iran, stop turning a blind eye to evil and make it so that AQ fears you more than they fear the US....
A few beheaded and gutted bodies from AQ members or collaborators would send the right message.
The One doesn’t care what Iraqi small people think anymore than he cares what American small people think. He knows best, and if that means more Iraqis die...well, he won.
“Iraqis say ‘wrong time’ for US withdrawal: poll”
Don’t worry, in 30 minutes they will change their minds again.
Sorry but at some point the child must stand, or fall, on their own. We cannot babysit forever.
Say, for example, I was "Achmed the Roadside Bomb Maker." All these years I have been selling my goods and services premised on the idea they would make the hated Americans leave Iraq. Now they are actually leaving, and I suddenly wake up and say, "Uh Oh -- I am about to be unemployed." So, how do I answer this question when the Pollster comes around to my cave?
It reminds me of the FOX News poll about three months after Obongo took office. It asked whether his performance so far "had met your expectations." I think I would have had to answer that question "yes."
Take it up with President Obeeline.
We’ve given them a fighting chance to have a real Republic. We have sacrificed more than our share of good American boys.
Now let them hammer it out. I think the islamo facist ideology of Islam will win out in the end anyway.
Hope they prove me wrong.
That’s so typical of muslims.
Monday: “Get off our soil, filthy infidel!!!”
Tuesday: “Hey, where are you going?? You can’t leave yet!!!”
When we’re there, they say go; when we leave they say stay. Good riddance Iraqi ingrates.
You have a Republic, if you can keep it.
1. WWII ended in Europe in 1945 - and we have maintained combat troops there for the past 65 years and peace has been maintained.
2. WWII ended in the Pacific in 1945 - and we have maintained combat troops in Japan and Twain for 65 years keeping the peace.
3. The Korean War ended in 1953 - and we have maintained combat troops in South Korea for 53 years keeping the peace.
All of this to the betterment of the areas affected and of our own nation.
In 2010 we pull combat troops out of Iraq. Is peace possible without them??
Iran will continue to take up the slack. Worry not, Iraqis! But I would brush up on my Farsi in the meantime along with becoming conversant in some 12th Imam ideology just to get along with the new zoo keepers.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOO
I’m going to keep my keyboard shut on this one. Spent 4 hours talking to a 27 year old Marine sarg last night.
Still processing the broken heart.
Maybe they just don’t want a republic?
It’s pretty sad when a country of people are afraid to be left to themselves.
It is time to get the hell out of there.
They are all terrorist. Everyone in the building was a terrorist.
