Until we realize that a politician will say what we want to hear until we elect them, it will not change.
It was her way of saying "thank you suckers" to the Tea Party and conservatives generally.
I guarantee that had he asked for her support, and she had said no - that he would not have broadcast that. It would have opened up a whole can of worms about him. He would have said nothing, and she wouldn't have tarnished her creds with his endorsement. These things take place behind closed doors - McCain is a pro - he's not going to drag that kind of crap out into public.
He's a pro, and once again - he got one over on her.
To bad McStain won’t fight the liberals with the ferocity he so easily displays when conservatives are involved. If Arizona votes for this fool again a pox on their houses, they knew better and did it anyway.
Nobody likes McCain. The lefties sure don’t love him. Conservatives hate him. Unfortunately, it seems likely that more than 51% of Arizona voters prefer him.
The question is: What if Sarah endorsed and campaigned for JD Hayworth? With Palin’s popularity and presence, that would have made all the difference.
Well... they’re not heading out in droves to vote for him. Just got back from the polls. At 9am there were only 44 votes cast. My family will account for nearly 10% of that! And we certainly didn’t vote for McCain.
Of interest... Hayworth is at the top of the ballot, McCain is under him, and Deakin is on the bottom... hmmmm.
Also to note... Kelly is higher on the ballot than Paton.
In the end, it will be seen as unfortunate, given the outcome, how much money was wasted on this primary that could have been used to get democrats voted out of offices in November.
Palin was the person that, if listened to, would have helped conservatives better direct millions of dollars in donations to races where the money could be used to defeat democrats and elect conservatives.
Oh, come on now, don't fall into the "she's too stupid to know any better" defense. It was clear he was going to run, and if anything, it seems her endorsement was meant to discourage him from running, by making it clear to him that he would not have her support.
It is almost insulting to suggest that Palin had no idea Hayworth was running, or that she wouldn't have endorsed McCain had she known.
Palin endorsed McCain because, as she put it, she believed he was the best man for the job, and would be good for the country. Agree or disagree, but don't pretend she shouldn't be trusted to be truthful and knowledgeable about her own reasons for endorsing people.
no i do not want mccain to win i would perfer jd beat him and the tea party candidate win the election. but like many posters here i have no dog in this fight, its for the people of arizona. but i do get to vote against blanche lincoln, question is to i vote for the establishment rino or do i vote for the independant tea partier
