2008 did cause almost irreparable damage to my faith in the wisdom of the voter.

The problem is that the typical voter is either dimwitted or consumed by his own self interest. There are precious few individuals around who are concerned about our grandchildren as taxpayers, or, more importantly, the nation that has been the last, best hope of freedom. The world is vaguely free ONLY because America exists. People around here think about it, but not the average voter. The dark age after Rome lasted half a millennium. I have no reason to think that the dark age after America will be any shorter.

You know, I was shocked to find that out -- so few people that I tried to talk to about any of these issues really seemed to care. I guess I was shocked to find out that so many people are just really selfish and self-centered, they really didn't care how things are impacted their children and grandchildren. Quite disgusting actually.

On another note: GO JD!!!

Just saw an AZ Republic article that quoted a 73-year old “Independent” who said he voted with the intention of “moderating the Republicans.” So this is what we’re dealing with here. Independents poisoning our primary. F@&<*% b@$+@^&s.
