A single car crash on Interstate 675 shut down the southbound lanes in Sugarcreek Twp. for six hours Aug. 23.
Brennan S. Eden, 19, of Mason, Ohio, lost control of his car and slammed into the concrete pillar of a bridge south of Indian Ripple Road about 7:15 a.m.
The force of the crash broke the car into three pieces and Brennan was ejected.
Witnesses said moments before the crash, Brennan was passing other drivers at speeds of at least 100 mph. He crashed when he drove off the left side of the roadway while passing a Sugarcreek Twp. police car. The crash was caught on that officer's cruiser camera.
"He went down into the median, into the grass, hit the guardrail, went airborne and the car hit the center post of the bridge and literally exploded into three main pieces," said witness Mark Riley.
Police said Brennan was alert and conscious after the crash and was flown to Miami Valley Hospital by Careflight where he was last listed in critical condition.
"He is very lucky to still be alive at this point," said Ohio State Highway Patrol Lt. Marty Fellure. "You can see behind me the impact he took and where he got ejected and landed, he's a very fortunate man right now."

I laughed. Sorry, but I couldn’t help it.
Joey Chitwood!
It’s too bad Darwin didn’t work his magic on that moron. It’s a miracle no one else was injured, especially considering how close he came to heading into on-coming traffic.
Very lucky to be alive. That is an understatement.
I wonder if he was wearing his seatbelt, and if he only got ejected because he wasn’t wearing it.
I guess the irony here is that stretch of road is a speed trap to end all speed traps.
As Dayton proper continues to implode the suburbs are all that is left. That stretch of SW-to-NE Interstate carries commuters to and from the south suburbs and the northeast suburbs, particularly those who work at WPAFB.
Local police forces are only too happy to add a little ‘road tax’ to the bills of these few remaining productive citizens.
That would be “East-Bound and Up” (apologies to Jerry Reed).
Whoa! He is extremely lucky to be alive after that impact. That car broke up into many pieces. Looks like maybe a 3rd generation Pontiac Firebird?
“He crashed when he drove off the left side of the roadway while passing a Sugarcreek Twp. police car.”
Look ma, he FLEW!
Now THAT is “Brill Yunt” work.
The trooper says you can see him being ejected, but I cannot see that? Looks like all pieces of the car to me? Can anyone point this out? Thanks.
idiot
Finally one day his truck came down a bit wrong and his truck tumbled off down the road.
He died of course.
Nobody's gotten into that ramping thing since word got out!
He lived, proof that the Lord watches over idiots.
I think that is him that goes off to the far right side of the highway..but w/o slomo its hard to figgure out where a body might be in that mess...that was one wild crash. I can’t believe the State Trooper says we are investigating to see if speed was involved in the crash..” GEE YOU THINK?
lol!
