Unless they open their books or are forced to open their books then it is purely a guess as to where the funding is coming from. And funding doesn’t have to be direct to come from a terror group.

Funding certainly doesn't have to be direct to come from a terror group, but proving that the source is a terror group is quite another matter. I don't personally think that forcing them to "open their books" is going to reveal anything. They will have covered that base. And the mere fact of investigating their financial affairs will enable them to cry "foul" and "prejudice" and "intolerance", which of course suits them fine. There's plenty of stupid people who will believe such charges.

Conservatives have to learn to box clever against these people. It often seems that they know how to play the PR game and we don't. So here's some ideas. Let them build their mosque, but acquire land next to it and build a church there. Or better a synagogue. Or an abatoir. Or a memorial to the fallen that shows a film of the planes slamming into the towers on a loop. If it's legal for them to build, it's legal for anyone else too. After all, they can hardly argue that building such things next to their mosque is "inappropriate". This proposed mosque is sheer provocation. So instead of complaining, let's provoke back. In all likelihood they would drop the plans to build if they knew that was going to happen.
