With a Muslim in the White House, Israelis should NOT expect a last-minute charge from the US cavalry to save them. It ain’t coming.
Israel is just now changing its armed forces chief of staff. The upper echelons and the government were distracted all week by a scandal involving a forged letter promoting one of the candidates. This is now a police matter. Obviously everybody and anybody had their minds elsewhere. Nothing is going to happen until things settle down.

You’re on the right track but I think they will take out the leadership in Iran first. Remember that Iran is the last stronghold of the Shiite and the rest are Sunni as is Obama. Sunni hate Shiite and want to rule the whole world with Sharia Law.
