ok, we have free speech, that is a right. But maybe discretion and common sense says that we should not exercise that right when it comes to saying the R(etard) word.

As conservatives we are beat daily by Libturds attempting to control our speech and frame debates using their concocted distorted language so we are justifiably sensitive to another attempt at speech control, but on this one, we’d best realize we gain nothing and probably lose. the R word is slang for retarded person of course and is denigrating to them when used. It really is like President Zero’s joke about “Special Olympics”; he was using defenseless people as a prop in a joke and the R word is really the same thing. Jen Aniston using such people as a prop in light hearted banter, comparing herself, a multimillionaire glamorous actress to a retarded person. I guess I would ask any FReepers with retarded people in their families what they think of the term and be generous in speaking as they would suggest.
Very similar to a skinny woman going from size 1 to 3 and going on national TV and talking about being horrified about becoming fat. Free speech sure! But it is stupid. Free speech is not always trump. Think about our families and jobs. Should we really say eveything we think?
Should a mosque be built on ground zero bec. we have freedom of religion?
Putting a mosque on that site is a literal abomination, more than just an affront to the thousands who died there as a result of the murderous asperations of the very religion behind the mosque.
If the people allow it, they’ll get more of what led to the destruction of the World Trade Center towers, and they’ll deserve it.
