She grew up in the late 70’s-early 80’s....we all said stuff like ‘retard’ and ‘that’s gay’ or ‘what a spaz’....
It’s sometimes difficult to ‘check’ yourself from slipping those phrases out, especially when you are in a comfortable conversation mode...I still say those types of phrases and have been called out for it.
