Alberto Gonzales: Changing the 14th Amendment won't solve our immigration crisis (RINO ALERT)
The Washington Post ^ | 2010-08-22 | Alberto Gonzales

Posted on 08/20/2010 8:07:53 PM PDT by rabscuttle385

Like most Americans, I am a descendant of immigrants and a grateful beneficiary of the opportunities available to our nation's citizens. My grandparents emigrated from Mexico in the early 20th century seeking a better life, and they found it working in the fields and dairy farms of Texas. Diversity is one of the great strengths of the United States -- diversity fueled by the migration of ethnicities, cultures and ideas.

Today, however, there is virtually universal agreement that our immigration process is broken. While security on our southern border has improved in the past decade, it remains inadequate in a post-9/11 world. Many employers hire undocumented workers with little concern about prosecution. Thousands of people cross our borders illegally believing they will not be arrested, expecting instead to receive benefits and, eventually, amnesty.

(snip)

President George W. Bush pushed for comprehensive immigration reform...

(snip)

As the nation's former chief law enforcement officer and a citizen who believes in the rule of law, I cannot condone anyone coming into this country illegally. However, as a father who wants the best for my own children, I understand why these parents risk coming to America -- especially when there is little fear of prosecution. If we want to stop this practice, we should pass and enforce comprehensive immigration legislation rather than amend our Constitution.

So I guess we should just surrender America to the invaders from Central and South America? Weird.

Of course it wouldn't...because the executive, legislative and judicial branches of government have tacitly conspired to discard the constitution...so no change to the constitution would actually be implemented as intended.

Actually, we DON'T have to Amend the 14th Amendment.

Mark Levin, and other Conservative legal minds, say all we need to do is define the Amendment, with simple legislation.

I’m so tired of this straw man premise that the left always offers in regard to illegals: we can never deport all of them; or changing the 14th amendment won’t “solve” our immigration crisis.

The underlying blarney being that unless the “fix” is 100% effective then it’s no use trying.

We don’t catch all murderers, rapists, burglars, etc, but neither do we stop trying to catch them, nor do we offer them amnesty periodically.

Jeez, unless there is 100% compliance with the prevailing theses, there is RINO alert.

How is changing 14th ammendment going to keep illegals out? You think their primary reason to immigrate is desire to vote? Also, with all the votes caste, especially in CA, there is TONS of evidence that illegals vote and skew the numbers as ONLY driver’s liscence is required in many placed for voting. If that doesn’t screw it up, REST ASSURED the EVMs tilt the results as long as Globalist-picks are close.

Illegals don’t need citizenship to get benefits, and if they are voting illegaly too, then how is throwing Constitution under the bus solve illegal immigration problem?

What is happenning is that people courtesy of NWO-International-Banker brainwashing that tries to erase people’s WILL TO RESIST, and things becomes inevitable or hopeless in people’s mind, people have given up on securing borders, and requiring employers to verify work status. Both of which would ERASE illegal immigration problem.

However, since people have lost hope, they have invented new battles, change the Constitution. Which is pretty much an impossible battle to win. In no way will 2/3 of the States or Congress support it.

Then question becomes why so much emotional capital be invested in an impossible goal, when National ID, Employer-Stauts-Verification-requirement, and sealing the borders are much more realistic and doable?

Maybe its not about solving the problem anymore but taking out frustations. Denying citizenship is perhaps more satifying than just keeping illegals out or denying them work.

End result of which is energy and resources spent on fatal cause, while NWO Elites continue to try conditions to make North American Union a reality.

Conservatism needs thinkers and practicality, and needs to get away from Bumper-Sticker philosophy and emotional traps, or it will lose.

If Bush thought he could have gotten Gonzales through, he probably would have appointed him to the Supreme Court.

there is RINO alert.

The RINO alert was because Gonzales openly advocated for "comprehensive immigration legislation," i.e., amnesty.

Understood. Thanks. I don’t support it as we have had it before, under Father of Modern Conservatism, and since then we have picked up another 15 million illegals. The best way remains requirement for Employers to verify status. Illegals are here for work.

But you would hear “Experts” come on TV and say that is impossible, Employers can not do that. Too expensive. How can they track people down.

Take names, because these are the agents of Globalist-Bankers. We have data-base, social-security-number and Tax-Payer-Identification Numbers (DESIGNED TO ACCOMMODATE ILLEGALS) for everyone. Few years back Rush Limbaugh and everyone made a HUGE deal about Bank of America issuing Credit Cards for Illegal Aliens. Why don’t they ask IRS, the Tax-Collection arm of Central Bankers, that they issue Tax-Payer-Identification Numbers to Illegal Aliens. Why are they accomodating them?

Facebook can keep track of 500million people posting things, but our Government can’t? Fact is under Patriotic Act, they already do. Track EVERY single phone, email, and everything else.

However, Government is owned by Bankers, who want one-world Government, and thus why would they be motivated to preserve our National Sovereignty?

Diversity is one of the great strengths of the United States -- diversity fueled by the migration of ethnicities, cultures and ideas.

I am SO sick of that line ... Someone tell me how "diversity" has strengthened this country? Why should we just take that inane statement as axiomatic? It's not a given; it's an outright LIE. Diversity never strengthened anything, with the possible exception of race horse bloodlines. And those were very carefully chosen "diversifications," believe you me.

UNITY strengthens. Diversity divides. Nobody has ever stood at the top of a hill and yelled "Divided we stand!"

Lady Margaret Thatcher
June 1999
Soviet America

“Britain and America are two of the most tolerant societies in history, having demonstrated that tolerance by welcoming refugees and immigrants from all parts of the world and then turning them into British and American citizens by inducting them into the national community. These immigrants learned our language and adopted our history as their own. Such cultural inclusion is, in fact, the only way to achieve a successful multi-ethnic society. . .

“The concept of multiculturalism threatens to unravel all that good work. Here is a genuinely utopian enterprise, more utopian indeed than the Tower of Babel. . . .

The U.S. is moving toward a system in which the government presides over a number of different social groups, some of which have their own language and type of education. This approach undermines social unity and allows construction of a multicultural society, which is the very opposite of America’s previous practice. The government aims to supervise these different groups and keep the peace by redistributing income from one to another.

“Thus the utopia of multiculturalism involves a bureaucratic class presiding over a nation divided into a variety of ethnic nationalities. That, of course, looks awfully like the old Soviet Union. Such a system cannot work, and its failure is likely to inflict great damage on the people, their traditions, and their liberties.”

— Lady Margaret Thatcher, former British prime minister, writing on “Resisting the Utopian Impulse” in the spring issue of American Outlook

The only way that this problem will ever be solved is to invade Mexico, depose the elitist government and run it as a territory of the United States for a decade or two. Mexico is a country with rich natural resources and prime farm land. The real problem is the elites and the corruption that the elites breed.
Then they will all go home.
