I know a person (state employee) who voted for Carnahan because his (the dead guy's) opponent on the ballot had once voted against a COLA raise for state employees. He said his vote was a gesture of contempt, a way to say,"See? I think a dead guy would be an improvement over you." (But I don't doubt that most of the Carnahan voters did so out of sympathy for his widow.)

Even low level members ruling class gets very upset when their elected puppets refuse to reach into the taxpayer’s pockets deeply enough to suit them.
