Weigel is a peasant.
Maybe he should look more closely at Obummer’s Czars. They seem to be getting a little blood on their hands lately.
The Doctors’ plot [doctors’ affair], [doctors-saboteurs] or [doctors-killers]) was a most dramatic anti-Jewish episode in the Soviet Union during Joseph Stalin's regime, involving the “unmasking” of a group of prominent Moscow doctors, predominantly Jews, as conspiratorial assassins of Soviet leaders. This was accompanied by show trials and anti-Semitic propaganda in state-run mass media. Scores of Soviet Jews were promptly dismissed from their jobs, arrested, sent to GULAG or executed. After the death of Joseph Stalin in March 1953, the new Soviet leadership declared that the case was fabricated. . . http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doctors’_plot
First we were nazis then we were taliban, then we were the same as the 9/11 terrorists.......now we are akin to the czars.
They’ve lost their minds. An understatement.
The Jew killing Nazis aren’t American conservatives. Any leftist should be able to look around at his American hating pals and figure that out. It wasn’t conservatives who murdered 3000 people at ground zero, but scummy libs wish to their god that it had been. If this clod is too ignorant to understand why normal Americans don’t want a monument to the terrorists at ground zero, at a sight where jet parts came down, he is too stupid to argue with.
BTW, have you noticed that the WarshPost is hiring every younger staffers to replace the folks who take the buyouts?
I doubt they are paying them anything like Posties used to earn.
Dave Weigel... the one-time Washington Post blogger assigned to cover conservatives, but who actually bashed them on a regular basis, left the Post only to be hired by another Post-owned publication -- Slate... up to his old tricks, comparing opponents of the Ground Zero Mosque to the czars who used to murder Jews by the thousands. Oh sure, he doesn't say that, but he does....
If Gainor's description of Weigel's article is accurate, Weigel misses one more important point, in addition to the critical fact that no one on "the Right" in the US is suggesting anything at all comparable to a pogrom against Muslims in this country.
Pogroms under the czarist regime were by definition government instigated and approved. The violence went on while government officials turned a blind eye and sometimes even participated themselves. In the US today, "the Right" can't possibly promote and engage in heinous violence against Muslims that is government sanctioned, even hypothetically if it wished to, because "the Right" doesn't have any power within that government.
BTW, Weigel is well known here on FR for his constant taunting of those of us who maintain doubts that Barack Hussein Obama meets the constitutional qualifications for the presidency.
Never heard of this guy so looked him up on Wikipedia From the photo and the JournOlist et al termination from the WaPo, one theme runs thru:
