ALL movies are parodies of reality, fa crissakes. John Wayne was the perfect grizzled over the hill drunk. You missed the whole point of the movie! Bridges(saw the stills) is a pathetic attempt at being the Not-John- Wayne.

I didn’t say this film would be any better but that True Grit is not one of the great films that Wayne appeared in. And he appeared in quite a few great films.
