A majority of those surveyed by Gallup disapproved of President Obama's job performance for the first time.
According to the Gallup daily tracking poll released on Tuesday, 51 percent of U.S. adults said they disapproved of how Obama was handling his job, compared with 42 percent who approve.
The poll reflects a one-point change from Monday, when Obama's disapproval number hit 50 percent for the first time.
Republicans were quick to point out the new number to further their argument that Obama is a liability to Democratic candidates in this fall's midterm elections.
Obama this week has been on a campaign push. He's appearing at a fundraiser for Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.) on Tuesday, and has campaign events in Ohio and Florida later this week. Obama headlined a fundraiser for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee on Monday in Los Angeles.
The movement in the poll doesn't amount to any sort of seismic shift in public opinion toward Obama; the Gallup daily tracking poll represents a rolling average of public opinion in the pollster's last three days of opinion surveys.
But the fact that Obama's numbers are steadily drifting downward combined with the fact that another Gallup poll showed Republicans with their widest advantage yet in generic congressional balloting have Republicans feeling confident, for now, about their chances in November's mid-term elections.
The latest Gallup poll, conducted August 14-16, has a three percent margin of error.
51 percent of U.S. adults”
A rather larger sampling than likely voters, or even registered voters, it might be noted.....
Will be ignored by 94.9% of the LameStream Media.
Planet Government Handout,or Planet Black Racist or Planet brain dead Democrat party bot.
Yep, he’s got a cult following that no matter he does they’ll vote to reelect him. Brain dead is a good description!
51% wins an election!
Go Sarah!
They live on the planet of “free obama money”...they are getting their paychecks and mortgages paid...making just enough to enjoy their unemployment.
The way things have been going, there’s a very good chance that Obama’s approval rating will be in the mid to high 30’s by the Nov election. All indications are that the economic reports will continue to deteriorate between no and then and unemployment will creep toward and perhaps push over 10%.
Regardless of how hard the Media will try to spin or dismiss the condition of this country, the Dems are going to get plastered in Nov.
I couldn't agree more. They're trying to put a good face on it now but it's going to be bloody.
Sadly I believe 40% or more will always approve. And that’s scary.

Which, tragically, will merely afford the Dem’s another chance to blame Republicans, again.
You have three groups of people in America.
The Producers.
The Looters.
The Moochers.
The Producers are you and I, who have worked/are working, and pay taxes.
The Looters are socialists like obama who steal from the Producers.
The Moochers are those who reap the “redistribution of wealth” and other forms of booty looted by the Looters.
The Moochers, the residents of the “Nanny State” grab for free this, and free that (picture the video of the mob of thousands in Atlanta scrambling to sign up for section-8 housing recently) and are rewarded for their vote by being tended to like cattle by the Looters.
VOTE BIG IN NOVEMBER AND VOTE FOR CONSERVATIVES/REPUBLICANS.
