Obama went ahead with the Ramadan dinner remarks even though his top political advisers had not reached a consensus on what he should do.

A sign of dementia perhaps. Or his "Muslim faith" - as he described it in an interview with George Stephanopoulos - taking precedence over what any infidel adviser would tell him.

Regardless, a gift to the GOP in terms of the upcoming elections. Note that the Republicans are now at their high water mark in Rasmussen's generic congressional ballot: up twelve points.
