'05 Ground Zero 'freedom center' was secular, liberal, and rejected

Many who defend the appropriateness of the mosque’s location will say that opposing what has become known as the “Cordoba House” amounts to Islamophobia or bigotry towards Muslims.

However, a number of proposed Ground Zero structures have yet to be built or, for that matter, rebuilt since the 9/11 attacks. These include the building meant to replace the World Trade Center towers and the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox church, a structure that was crushed as a result of the September 11th attacks.

In fact, a one proposed idea that was eventually rejected was the International Freedom Center. This cultural center, first proposed in 2004, was a left-wing endorsed project that presented itself as a tribute to those who lost their lives on 9/11.

The CNN report on the IFC in 2005 showed the that those on Left had tried previously to get their relativist version of 9/11 events integrated with the destroyed area of lower Manhattan through a secular institution.

BECAUSE THEY HAVE TO PLANT THEIR VICTORY MOSQUE AT THE SITE OF THEIR D-DAY. Other sites would be meaningless for them.

Just thought it needed repeating.

“...Other sites would be meaningless for them.”

Yes, that’s right.

Throughout history the Muslims have repeatedly created their VICTORY symbols in the form of Mosques either on the sites of previous religious sites, or have converted the previous sites to Mosques. It’s their way of peeing on those they defeated, as Dogs mark their territory.

Just like the animals they are.

They need to have their noses rubbed in it.

We need to shift the argument here from direct opposition to the mosque to ‘why has the mosque been fastracked while all these other projected have been delayed or denied?’

And then follow the money as to who is really supporting it and who they are paying off to clear the way for this thing.

Whenever this topic comes up, I get the image in my head of the marines planting the U.S. flag atop Iwo Jima. That is what this mosque on the WTC site represents to militant Islam.

What did the Marines do when they won through to the top of Mount Suribachi at Iwo Jima?

They raised a familiar, well recognized symbol which showed their victory!
The Jihadists are no different. They wish to show their victory in a familiar, well recognized manner.

Members of the Aspen institute of George Soros fame were behind bother the first attempt at imposing their politically correct revisionist memorial at the site, as well as this current version, ground zero mosque’s Cordoba Foundation/Initiative.

Interesting this building has landing gear from Atta’s plane. Kinda makes it look like a martyr’s shrine, doesn’t it?
