Mark Levin Slams Chris Christie on 9/11 Mosque
Mark Levin ^ | 08/16/2010

Posted on 08/16/2010 7:01:35 PM PDT by Brices Crossroads

Mark Levin today slammed NJ Governor Chris Christie for his sanctimonious attitude that the controversy over the Mosque at ground Zero is "just politics" and "is being used as a political football by BOTH parties!" He says that this attempt By Christie to make the two positions on the mosque (pro and con) equivalent is nothing more than a naked effort to portray himself as "above it all" and look down his nose (so to speak) at those who have the courage to oppose this thing (most prominently former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin--although Levin does not mention her by name).

Levin praised the courage of those who have stood up to Obama and Bloomberg and opposed this mosque. The "Great One" said that Christie was "dead wrong" to link the opposition to the mosque to intolerance.

Quote: "Just becasue you clobber public sector unions and cut your state's budget does not necessarily mean you are Presidential material." Levin also says he is concerned about Christie's immigration positions.

He tells Christie to: "get serious and take a position" rather than being afraid to "get your hands dirty" by taking a position. The clip is only 2:45 and is worthwhile to listen to.

“Christie’s reaction reminds me of Dukakis’ bloodlessly well reasoned answer to the debate question regarding his possible attitude towards capital punishment if his wife was ever raped and murdered.”

tha is a good analogy. I remember that too. Christie is politically tone deaf...and gutless. But most of all he lacks the sense of outrage that regular Americans have. He seems to be cozying up to the Elites alreadyand he has only been in office for a few months.

“is that picture from her silly reality show.”

The “reality show” terminology was deployed by the sophomoric fools on your side. In actuality, the show was planned to be more of a promotional series, highlighting the wonders of Alaska.

“or from another book of hers with spelling errors everywhere?”

I read her book, and any spelling errors were few and far between. Actually I don't recall any. In any case that would be the responsibility of her editors, not her as the author.

Seriously, is that all you've got? Can't you clowns ever do any better in slamming Sarah Palin?

She scares the crap out of you people doesn't she?

DOESN'T SHE?

I heard a Democrat on Fox this AM touting Christie’s mosque comments. Thanks Gov Christie for giving the left cover!

Not if this is a national historical site, which Congress could make it. Or if the local zoning boeard decides not to permit it.

Of course, they could do that to YOUR property too. Since you would have already cast aside the principle of property rights, you would have no credible defense, would you? If you claimed your case was "different" the powers-that-be would roll their eyes and snicker. You remind me of my PC friends who are constantly "offended" by everything ranging from smokers to CSA flags. Sometimes having your "feelings" hurt is the price of freedom.

“Property rights and free speech don’t extend to those whose well-known and oft-stated goal is the destruction of our nation, its people, and the crushing of liberty.”

Then according to the logic of that theory millions of anti-liberty Obamaites and socialists should be deprived of free speech. Such an approach will make the French Revolution look like a picnic.

Gov. Christie is correct. And Mark Levin is beginning to remind me more and more of Sean Hannity.

You’re dangerously naive, at best.

Sometimes having your "feelings" hurt is the price of freedom.

It's amazing that you think the Islamists simply "hurt our feelings." Most folks know that they killed 3000 of our fellow citizens dead.

And they would kill the other 300 million given the opportunity and ability.

And your sort of mush-minded misunderstanding of what liberty entails would help them do it.

Let me restate: the movement to SELECTIVELY deny are HALLOWED property and first amendment rights to ALL Muslims represents the the conservative counterpart of PC emotional/Nervous Nellie blind hysteria. I have black friends who make a similar case for bannning the Confederate flag (look at those millions who died in the slave trade!) or smokers who want to ban depictions of smokers in the movies (look at all those millions who have died of smoking creating disease!). Watch it: emotions, "feelings," and the blind hysteria of the momenet (as this is) may be your friend now but they will be your enemy tomorrow.

Naive? That better applies to someone who wants to give our big government tyrants a blank check to deny first amendment and property rights to one, and only one, group.

A foreign death cult, the most destructive and tyrannical death cult in the history of mankind, one that, because of its statist, globalist aims also constitutes a virulent anti-liberty political ideology.

I guess you missed that part.

Do you also support Mayan human sacrifices of virgins on Times Square in the name of the First Amendment and property rights?

Hogwash. The commies and the Nazis killed far more people.

So, you admit that Islam is a political ideology like fascism and communism?

Christie is great in some ways, but no more than half the deal. Maybe he’ll develop over the next few years. At the moment he smells like a RINO to me.
