New Jersey Right to Life recently produced audit reports that show Planned Parenthood is one of several reproductive health clinics linked to incorrectly billing the state for services unrelated to family planning. The reports were released in reaction to state lawmakers' efforts to overturn Gov. Chris Christie's recent veto of a bill that would restore funding to pro-abortion clinics.
In July, Gov. Christie vetoed a bill from New Jersey lawmakers who were seeking to restore $7.5 million in funding to Planned Parenthood after the governor made budget cuts to address the state's $11 billion deficit.
According to New Jersey Right to Life (NJRL), legislators sympathetic to Planned Parenthood's causes are seeking to overturn the veto and had the state of New Jersey apply for a federal waiver which would reimburse family planning clinics 90% for every Medicaid service they provide.
Responding to these efforts, New Jersey Right to Life released three U.S. inspector general reports from 2007-08 that ordered the state to refund nearly $3 million to the federal government for prescription drugs and medical care that were incorrectly billed as family planning services.
Audits performed by the U.S. Inspector General for the Department of HHS uncovered a consistent problem with NJ family planning clinics improperly billing Medicaid for services that did not qualify as family planning, New Jersey Right to Life said in a press release on Monday.
The facts cannot be denied. These audits show a systematic abuse of improper billing of Medicaid for family planning services to the federal government to obtain 90% reimbursement, the statement added. Planned Parenthood has been cited specifically as one of the principal agents of these improper billing practices.
Planned Parenthood's supporters not only want to use $7.5M in taxpayer dollars to fund these family planning clinics, they also want the state of NJ to permanently apply for a federal waiver to reimburse family planning clinics 90% for every Medicaid service they provide despite the clinics' history of improperly billing Medicaid and contributing to the nearly $3M in fees calculated by the Federal Government to be refunded to them, the group underscored.
Taxpayers should be outraged, wrote the pro-life organization, who added that the reports give good reason to lawmakers to now oppose any misguided effort to override Governor Christie's veto.
What a shock, NOT! Well, not only are they murderers, they are also thieves.
