A former supervisor for the federal Transportation Security Administration has pleaded guilty to stealing $20,000 worth of jewelry and other items from checked luggage at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.
The U.S. Attorney's office in Seattle says 50-year-old Randy Pepper entered the plea Monday at U.S. District Court in Seattle.
Pepper was fired in July 2009 after another TSA worker saw him removing items from checked luggage. Surveillance video confirmed it, and investigators discovered Pepper had pawned the items. Prosecutors say they included gold diamond rings and sterling silver necklaces and earrings.

Kudos to the honest TSA agent that turned him in.
Where did this guy think he was working?Italy?
Valuables like this you CARRY ON.

I know for a fact that airport security agents have stolen millions of dollars worth of fingernail clippers and fingernail files.
Who leaves their jewelry in their checked luggage?
Or leave at home.
I see them on eBay all the time.
Did he shoot all the people participating in his firing, calling them racists?
I’ve had a Lee Auto-collimator stolen out of check luggage. It looks really expensive, it is really expensive and has absolutely zero street value. Unless you align industrial laser rails regularly(very specific types of Lee Laser rails at that), it’s worthless. Worldwide market for probably 50 of them. Scumbag TSA jagoffs.
Exactly!
lol bet these thefts happen all the time.
Thanks to Tax-Chick for the ping.

I agree. Any jewelry of real value travels on my body. But I worry just as much about my packed favorite unique boots and shoes and jeans. I always think that if somebody saw them, they’d want them. ;-). And then I can’t replace them. The jewelry on my body can be replaced. ;-)

Look for the union label...
on that Federal employee that stole high-priced valuables from you.
Several years ago, going through TSA at BWI in Baltimore my phone holster dropped unseen to the floor, and I didn’t discover it until I got to Florida. Meanwhile, a TSA agent phoned one of the names in my Contacts, which happened to be my daughter, and told her they had my phone.
On the way back north they refused to give me the phone. I made another trip to BWI the next day and was STILL refused. When I told them the phone was insured and that I would just report it stolen by TSA, and get a new one, my phone magically showed up and was quickly returned to me.
Some of their behavior comes from being “drunk with power” and some of it comes from many of them being lowlifes who gravitated into a gubmint gravy job. And then there are a FEW who are decent and honorable, such as your example.
democrat?....
TSA retards-doing what they do best.
They should make him take a week of paid leave and require him to return the (copy of the)luggage key to its rightful owner.
That'll show him.
