I just wish he could have made his point without using the Lord’s name in vain.
Wasn’t what R. Mitchum said similar to what a old rock star (Alice Cooper?)said a few years back? It was about not getting political advice from a rock star(celebrity); or letting a rock star tell you who to vote for. I remembered it when reading this, but I don’t recall who it was or what words they used (just the gist of it). It was either A. Cooper or Ted Nugent. Anyway, what that person said was very funny and to the point-they would know!
James Caan reminds me of that actor that played in “The Sopranos”, I can’t think of his name, but he played Tony S. Their ‘tough guy’ characters seemed similar, so I wonder if Tony S. could have been inspired by Sonny C. from “The Godfather”?
I dont know. I have never seen the Sopranos
Read the list again—Jon Voight is on it. I believe Robert Duval is Conservative also—from having heard him talking on various programs, he certainly sounded like one. Same for Sylvester Stallone.
James Gandolfini.
His bedroom scene with Patricia Arquette (Alabama) in True Romance is where Tony Soprano was ‘born’.
Yeah, that’s right, I just couldn’t remember his name!
I remember the day Danny Greene went “boom”
Caan has long been a scrappy guy - NOT your typical Hollywood lib — his revelation does not really surprise me.
Good for him for announcing this now — even at such a late date. Many might be surprised to learn how many ‘closeted’ Republicans or conservatives there really are in ‘entertainment.’ They’re just afraid to speak out but perhaps times are changing — enough!
For a long time already many “craft” people, those working behind the scenes, have suffered in silence as the big mouthed actor-types in ‘the business’ spewed their views all over creation. Sean Penn and Babs Streisand were great examples.
Kudos to James Caan!
But you can add John Rich Country artist to that list.
Warren Beatty is a anti-gun (or gun-grabber)too. I probably wouldn’t put him on a ‘conservative’ list exactly. However, I would give him a ‘nod’ or half-point because he’s pro-life, or anti-abortion. There are a handful of Hollywood people who, if not conservative or even Republ., are at least friendly to the war efforts, or are pro-life, or otherwise “on our side” to some degree.
Some of these are: Jack Nickolson, Angelina Jolie (friendly to Iraq war), Morgan Freeman, John Travolta, Tom Cruise, Lara Flynn-Boyle, Rachel Hunter, Jameson Parker (Simon and Simon), Max Baer (Jethro in Bev. Hillbillies), Gene Simmons (KISS), Alice Cooper (is Republ.), Steve Tyler (same as Al. Cooper), Marylin Manson, and a sprinkling of others!
Now some of those people in that list are Repub.s and could be conservative Demo.s or Libertarians, I don’t know. Some have changed sides one way or another. Like I said, I don’t know what their status is now. Ozzy Osbourne was friendly to GWBush at one time, and Dog Chapman was. Arnold Sw. (CA gov.)is mostly liberal Repub., but does come to conserv. side occasionally.
They are thick as thieves back east from Chicago to NYC
He is pro-life, but economically his views probably line up with Trotsky.
Good to hear.
I just saw him in ‘Middle Men,’ a very good movie.
Way to go, Santino!
