A check from Uncle Sam gets your attention, even if the money doesn't help that much with the bills. More than 750,000 Medicare recipients with high prescription costs each got a $250 government check this summer, and 3 million-plus more checks are going out to people who land in the program's anxiety-inducing coverage gap.

Democrats, running scared in an election year, are trying to overcome older people's mistrust of the new health care law, which expands coverage for younger generations by cutting Medicare payments to hospitals and insurers.

Will the ploy work?

"It's like a teaser," says Virginia Brant, 65, of Glendale, Ariz. "You go to Vegas and they give you the free spin on the wheel. We have had our teaser—the $250—for us to say, `Gee, look at what we have coming.'"

I hit the donut in May. I must spend more than $4000 out of pocket before a 50% drug benefit kicks in. This $250 check will be donated to the tea party.
Any decent drug insurance coverage would not be run like a 3rd world rip off. I am required to spend nearly $6000 a yr for a plan that covers less than my premium. Larceny on a grand scale and it only will get worse as the new and improved national health care comes on line.
Sarah is right. Government health care requires death panels or there is no graft for the Ruling Class.

Fascist Obama Healthcare is unconstitional due to the 13th Amendment’s “involuntary servitude” clause:

Section 1. Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.
Section 2. Congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation.

Sounds a lot like Obamacare is essentially forcing someone with threats of imprisonment to pay taxes to support someone else’s healthcare. Thus it is in violation of the 13th Amendment.

'CMS₍₁₎', now pays only approx 50% of a doctor visit cost. The rest is now the patients responsibility. This will only pi$$ off more seniors or disabled on Medicare.

(1) CMS is 'Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services'. It's they who actually pays out the money for Medicare & Medicaid.
