They can be as gay as they want, they can shack up however they want, but if they want to use the power of the law to make me recognize it as being equivelent to marriage, that's when I put my foot down and refuse.
Marriage is a union before the creator of a man and a woman, period. Since the government has abandoned recognizing it as being such, they've lost the need to recognize and regulate it as well.
Get government out of the marriage business, since they can't be bothered to recognize what it means.
“Get government out of the marriage business, since they can’t be bothered to recognize what it means.”
I agree, although it doesn’t seem to be too popular of an opinion on FR.
A piece of paper from the gubberment doesnt make anyone more or less married, according to my faith, no matter the legal benifits it can give. Its just a shame that the govt has the power to punish if one disagrees with the states bizarre and mutating definition of marriage.
Government has an almost perfect record of messing up whatever it is involved with. Like marriage. On the other hand, my faith has a perfect record and has never forced anyone to accept impossibilities like gay marriage. If it was left to folkss faiths, I would be free to accept someones marriage based on what my faith says about it, not whatever the state claims. Sexualy active homsexualists commit sin even if they have a piece of paper from the gubberment, and there is nothing that the state can do about it. There is also nothing the gubberment can do to stop God blessing real marriage.
The govt is probly never going to give up its involvement in marriage, to that institutions detriment. It affords too much control in the culture, and is a great weapon for the Enemy. Do you think the homosexualists want the gubberment to quit defining marriage? Not hardly. They want govt to be able to regulate marriage, or at least fool folks into thinking it does, forcing and conditioning folks to accept an impossibility like gay marriage, contrary to what their faith teaches about it.
The bottom line is that true Christianity and many other faiths are never going to change the true definition of marriage, which is very comforting. After all, thats really all that matters.
