Stunned dog owners and residents of a Severn neighborhood are shocked that authorities won't be charging a federal police officer who shot and killed a Siberian husky Monday night at a community dog park.

Bear-Bear, a brown and white husky that was about 3 years old, was playing in the Quail Run dog park at about 6:30 p.m., running off leash inside the fenced-in area, when the officer and his wife arrived with a German shepherd, who was kept on a leash. When the dogs began to play roughly, the federal officer asked Bear-Bear's guardian, his owner's brother, to call off the dog. But before he could do anything, the officer pulled out a gun and shot Bear-Bear, according to the husky's owner.

Well, let me be the first to say.

“I don’t have all the facts, but the police acted stupidly.”

Oh, and what is a “federal police officer”?

By keeping his own dog leashed, the officer caused the problem.

A leash can cause a dog to become territorial.

Dog parks where dogs can run unfettered can seem like a good solution for urban dogs, but before embarking on such a project designers should “consider legal ramifications, social behavior of dogs and dog owners, environmental and health issues for dogs and people, and the costs of building, maintaining, and policing dog parks

A spokesman for the Anne Arundel County Police Department said no charges will be filed and investigators found no evidence of criminal activity.

Anne Arundel County has five dog parks. They also have a volunteer “Bark Ranger” program. I’m not making this up.

The way cops are hot to trot on shooting dogs makes one wonder if the mooselimbs have inflitrated the police forces.

This is one that is difficult to justify...

There was no threat to human life and it was a fenced-in public area. If, as described, the officer did not allow the dog's handler time to gain control before shooting, then that appears to be a significant failure of judgement. Any ARMED LEO has a higher bar of justification to clear in such a use of a firearm. Given that there is no mention of his dog being a K-9, the presumption is that this was an effort to protect his family pet, if so this was over-reaction in the use of deadly force.

Shake of head and angry wonderment on my part!

Yep, there is a policeman for every aspect of our lives, while in some nations the police are engaged in hunting down criminals, here they are engaged in criminal activity themselves, anything they can do to get their hands on your wallet, and they have made it legal, legal does not make anything right.

No account people wants a government job because it pays great benefits and also gives the child like men and women a feeling of superiority and power, ( child like in mind ).

Or you might call them Scribe,s and Pharisees.

Bible in Basic English
Luke 11 v 39
And the Lord said to him, You Pharisees make the outside of the cup and the plate clean; but inside you are thieves and full of evil.( the Pharisees also had some law making powers.)

That is not to say there are not any good people in law enforcement, i have seen a few.

And it will just get worse because they can not keep their government jobs unless there is so called crime, so crime will get worse because everything will be a crime.

Sin tax on tobacco, liquor, salt, sugar, etc, what next?

Who,s fault is it? who voted the bastards in that are voting to make all of the laws in the name of piece and safety.

There are only two reasons why anyone would want to get elected to a position in government.

No.1 Most just want to get their hands into every ones pocket book and to have all of the power that it brings them, and the easier they are to get along with the easier their job is.

No. 2 there are a few that want to get elected so they can try to get these slime bags in No 1 out of there.

Any one who is more concerned with peace and safety than they are of freedom and independence will vote for No. 1,
I will vote for No. 2 if they are black, white, red, brown, or yellow or purple, male or female, or if its a monkey yelling lets get the slime bag thieves out of government I will vote for it.

I love this country but i hate the criminals that are running this beloved country.

We have people in prison who have done nothing more than to defend themselves or some one else, or people who just done something wrong by accident or did something in haste, ( with out thinking ) yet we are paying these socialist criminals big money to deliberately make livestock out of all the rest of us.

I can say no more except get in there and vote, and if you vote for no. 1 you deserve what you will eventually get, even though they may try to make it look like greener pastures, just remember you are not a cow.

one thing I find to be rather interesting about these (all too common) stories is that cops seem to have no trouble shooting dogs with a single shot, yet they seem to take 50+ to hit a person.
