It has nothing to do with religious freedom. There are plenty of mosques in NYC. The issue is one of sensitivity and understanding by the people who intend to build it regardless of how the majority of New Yorkers and the American people feel. Is that how you build tolerance and understanding? Or are they trying to make an in-your-face statement?

Why is anyone surprised? After 9-11 Bush declared that Islam was a religion of peace, ignoring the fact that Islam divides the world into two: the House of Peace and the House of War. The House of Peace exists where sharia is practiced.

I think they plan to start construction, then blow it up a few months prior to the 2012 election, blaming it on “right-wing extemists” and talk radio, pulling another Clinton coup. I can’t help but think there is a method to his madness and it has something to do with his re-election.
