After skirting the controversy for weeks, President Barack Obama is weighing in forcefully on the mosque near ground zero, saying a nation built on religious freedom must allow it.
"As a citizen, and as president, I believe that Muslims have the same right to practice their religion as everyone else in this country," Obama told an intently listening crowd gathered at the White House Friday evening to observe the Islamic holy month of Ramadan. "That includes the right to build a place of worship and a community center on private property in lower Manhattan, in accordance with local laws and ordinances," he said. "This is America, and our commitment to religious freedom must be unshakable."
The White House had not previously taken a stand on the mosque, which would be part of a $100 million Islamic community center two blocks from where nearly 3,000 people perished when hijacked jetliners slammed into the World Trade Center towers on Sept. 11, 2001. Anything the majority of Americans believe in, anything that makes sense, anything the is right this POS does just the opposite so this is anything but surprising.

They have a right to build it as does a church have a right to build anywhere. We should follow the law and so should they.
Let ‘em knock themselves out but they better have a very long timeline and an open checkbook.
That being said I would inspect every inch of it and cite every building code and labor violation and tax, fine and fee the heck out of them. I would ring the cash register!
I would delay inspections and throw every roadblock available to the government.
If a labor union wants to hold things up I would give them all freedom under the law to do so. If a group wants to protest or block access to the site I would be slow to respond and be gracious and supportive to the protestors. If there are gray areas then the law would surely rule the against them.
Any access needs, variances or requests would be denied.
If I was a labor union I would have a pig roast every week and dump the waste onsite. I would encourage my members to not hurt themselves and take it easy on the job.

No mosque. Not diverse enugh. I think we need to have an ecumenical center built there ifor all faiths to honor the call to diversity and love and peaceful co-existance.

If you think that a large defeat in November will stop Obama and his ‘Obamies’ then you do not know your enemy! If anything such a defeat will only make him and his minions double down!
