The United States used military bases in JAPAN with Japanese allied cooperation, in 1950, less than five years after our mercilessly fighting with them to a bloody pulp on both sides, with much animosity still intact, to attack the Communist North Koreans and Chicoms, so anything is possible with old adversaries, and time can turn things around on their head, you better believe it.

I may get peppered with buckshot in cyberspace here for such a blasphemy, but I do believe that many U.S. Vietnam Vets will be actually alive to witness some sort of military or intelligence cooperation between the US military and the Vietnamese Communists (former NVA and VC), in an alliance against Red China, maybe even in the field together in some sort of joint action, the red and yellow commie Viet flag right next to the Stars and Stripes. Over 35 years have passed since the very end of our dust-up with Hanoi and the PRG. That is an eternity in world politics and power shifts.

You’re 100% right...but for an old war horse like me and many other Vietnam dog soldiers, “Victor Charlie” will always be the enemy.
