Close the border. Seal the border. Build a wall - a big one. Sow mines and mark a Death Strip and follow through. We cannot allow the distaster that is and will be Mexico to move any farther North than it already has.

As it is, it’ll take years to clear out all the illegals and send them packing.

Just one gang — busted in April — allegedly stole $46 million worth of oil products over two years.

I'll bet you can get some good deals on stolen oil. Obviously these guys aren't hording it and have a low overhead.

Investment #3: The Oort cloud, approximately .5 light years away from the sun, has a large agglomeration of proto-comets and asteroids left over from the creation of the solar system. The agglomeration in question was perturbed by a passing singularity some 50 years ago according to several astronomers from MIT, and at least five or so large planetoid-size objects are in a probable collision course with Earth and Mars, ETA most likely 2011 or the second quarter of 2012, definitely before the election. Space tourist industry stocks haven't been doing well over the past few years due to the skittishness on the part of investors, but our analysts theorize that such industries will inevitably tool up for much larger escape spacecraft in a matter of months once collision predictions are confirmed. To learn more about recommended stocks, you can purchase our "When worlds collide" speculative investment manual for $54.95. Order now and we'll throw in some Ginsu knives!

No guerrilla army has ever been defeated on its own soil ...

The Viet Cong were absolutely destroyed after Tet '68, Uncle Walter notwithstanding.

Read it yourself here, in the words of the North Vietnamese (third question from the end):

http://www.viet-myths.net/buitin.htm

Not an “urban legend”; I’ve seen the original article in the WSJ myself.

We are getting way off topic but that article doesn't say what you're claiming at all. I know we won the Tet Offensive but that wasn't your claim.

Q: What about the results?

A: Our losses were staggering and a complete surprise;. Giap later told me that Tet had been a military defeat, though we had gained the planned political advantages when Johnson agreed to negotiate and did not run for re-election. The second and third waves in May and September were, in retrospect, mistakes. Our forces in the South were nearly wiped out by all the fighting in 1968. It took us until 1971 to re-establish our presence, but we had to use North Vietnamese troops as local guerrillas. If the American forces had not begun to withdraw under Nixon in 1969, they could have punished us severely. We suffered badly in 1969 and 1970 as it was.

That was the only paragraph that even comes close to making your case and it doesn't.

You originally said “No guerrilla army has ever been defeated on its own soil ...”

The cited article states “Our forces in the South were nearly wiped out by all the fighting in 1968. It took us until 1971 to re-establish our presence, but we had to use North Vietnamese troops as local guerrillas.”

Is your position that even though the Viet Cong were nearly wiped out and had to be replaced by the NVA, they were not defeated?

Are you saying that invading Mexico, conquering it and controlling it completely is a good and workable idea?

Not necessarily.

I’m taking issue with your claim that “No guerrilla army has ever been defeated on its own soil ...”

Since you want to nitpick tedious points; Giap doesn’t say they were defeated. He says they were hurt badly.

“Nearly wiped out” and “had to be replaced” but not “defeated”?

It was for Columbia.

I guess I missed the news that the U.S. invaded Columbia, conquered it and is now controlling it.

You brought the word ‘destroyed’ into it. Making things up is a poor debate tactic.
