Community activist Quanell X and relatives of a teen gunned down Saturday railed against America's immigration policy this morning after learning one of the suspected gunmen was in the country illegally. "I believe it is time that the immigration policy in this country has more teeth," Quanell X said before the scheduled arraignments of Melvin Alvarado, 22, and Jonathan Lopez-Torres, 18. Immigration officials have said Alvarado was deported in April 2008 and again in May 2009.
"This man should not have been allowed to sneak into the country over and over again and snuff out the life of this little girl," Quanell X said. "We do, obviously, have a border problem." He was cheered on by family members of Shatavia Anderson who was killed on Saturday. Leroy Anderson, the 14-year-old girl's father, nodded along with Quanell X outside of the courtroom, then broke down in tears...
The girl's uncle, Joe Lambert, also called for tougher enforcement of immigration laws. "I would like to see what they're doing in Arizona, done here," Lambert said...
Alvarado and Lopez-Torres, who is a lawful permanent resident from Honduras, have been charged with capital murder. They are being held without bail in the Harris County Jail.

Oh yes. All of a sudden he’s all for a stronger police presence, better law enforcement. ;) ... Bottom line, though, I don’t care as long as he sticks it to the open borders people. The headline on this should be “Illegal alien kidnaps and murders a black child”.

Happens every day in every major city across the U.S. and manytimes over in Houston. Q is so busy going after the evil white people that he has little time to pay attention to those that are really responsible for problems in the Black community. So when is Sheila Jackson Lee going to make her debut on camera for this cause?
These people are reacting naturally to a tragedy brought on in part by the laxity of our government. You and yours could be the next to suffer such a tragedy.

Of course they are. No one suggested anything else. But I also have a problem with black advocacy groups siding with the illegal advocacy groups in support of open borders. This is the result. I think QX and this victim’s family have a new perspective on border security and the hell that Mayor White brought to Houston by making it a sanctuary city.
Amen. But apparently there is a victim hierarchy, and illegals have bumped blacks down on the list.

It’s infuriating that democrats (and I include the Gramnesty types) rail about the number of soldiers that die every year fighting a war but the number of Americans that die every year at the hands of illegal aliens doesn’t bother them one whit.
The fact that this “Barnicle” reporter had to go to the pathetic Quanell the Tenth to get a quote is extremely annoying. The Uncle of the slain girl said it best on a soundbite given to the CBS affiliate (Ch 11) in the Courthouse, something to the effect that (I am paraphrasing from a spotty memory) “This guy had been deported twice. Twice! Why are they letting these people back in here to kill people whenever they want to?”
Somebody does need to ask Queen Sheila about this. Knowing the pathetic media in this town, no one will.
Yes, yes and yes. But at this point, QX has the standing and the pr moxie to take on Queen “DON’T YOU KNOW WHO I AM” Sheila and demand some changes and put her on the hot seat. BTW, I think the uncle’s comments were fairly well reported and broadcast, too. I saw them several places. Uncle and QX could team up on her. What a pleasure that would be to see.

Communists & liberals do it all the time. Commies call it "raising awareness" and use the liberals as their useful idiots to carry their message. Conservatives have surrendered the inner-cities to the libs & commies. If conservatives would get involved at the street level, we too could raise awareness about how to really improve the situation in a way that would actually change things for the better.
